For Mike McC. and Bryan T.
More YouTube goodies:
- King Crimson doing "Larks Tounges... (Pt. 1)" on some teevee show in 1972. Jamie Muir is a Salvador-Dali-esque madman (Dali: "There is one difference between a madman and myself. I AM NOT MAD!") on percussion. I never realized how much it was Muir who made the sound of that edition of KC. Mr. Bruford seems relegated to playing pretty much straight-up drum parts while Muir is a kinetic animal all over the place, playing anything in front of him.
- King Crimson doing "Easy Money" in Central Park, NYC, in 1973. Muir has already left the band.
- Japanese band Ningen-Isu covering "Larks Tounges... (Pt. 2)." A great performance of one of my all-time favorites, a really difficult piece of music.
