I've always wanted to get deepter into XTC. Here's a good reason. And at the risk of sounding like Patrick Bateman, "Another Day in Paradise," by Phil Collins is a prime example of a truly great artist atop his creative mountain. And I've also thought of "Shadows in the Rain," by the Police and Sting (two different versions) as a sort-of homeless song.
I completely forgot about Phil. I'll have to check out the Sting/Police one(s). Doesn't ping the old memory.
Pink Floyd's "On the Turning Away" is one of my favorites. I can get choked up during that one. And PFM's "Just Look Away" is another....
